Air quality and rail freight scoping paper
Local air quality is now recognised as a major and pressing public health issue, and one which is shaping public transport policy.
Rail freight has good environmental credentials but this reputation and advantage could be lost if future action is not taken to understand and engage in proposals to reduce its local air quality impacts. Recognising that the topic is complex, RFG has commissioned some research from Campaign for Better Transport to help inform the debate and provide additional information for members.
