Building our Industrial Strategy Green Paper

Rail Freight Group (RFG) is pleased to respond to the consultation on HM Government’s Green Paper on Building Our Industrial Strategy.
 
The freight sector is critical in supporting industry, moving goods across the UK to consumers, delivering imported goods and providing routes to market for exports.  It therefore plays a critical role in meeting the ambitions of Government for a renewed approach to UK industry. The cost, reliability and ease of freight movements will consequently impact on economic outcomes for business.  Government therefore needs to ensure that freight (by all modes, including rail) is as efficient, productive and cost effective as possible to support development in other industrial sectors.
