Event recording – Building Better with rail freight in the West Midlands

The construction industry is committed to working towards net-zero carbon emissions and using rail freight to transport materials (eg limestone, cement, sand and granite) is a vital part of that strategy.

To ensure the use of rail freight services can grow in Birmingham and the West Midlands, MPA (Mineral Products Association) and RFG (Rail Freight Group) are working closely together to highlight the environmental and commercial benefits of using rail – and to explain what local politicians, planners and communities can do to help.

Lucy Wooton, Head of Grand Railway Collaboration, West Midlands and Chris Swan, Head of Rail, Tarmac joined RFG Members to discuss the key issues.
