RFG launches Cross-Member Mentoring Programme for 2026

The Rail Freight Group (RFG) is pleased to announce the launch of its 2026 Cross-Member Mentoring Programme, designed to support skills development, knowledge-sharing and personal growth across the rail freight sector.

The programme pairs participants from different RFG member organisations for a year-long mentoring relationship, meeting virtually or in person between 6–12 times in 2026. Both mentors and mentees receive training and resources to help them build a productive, supportive and effective partnership.

The scheme is open to anyone working for an RFG member company, regardless of role or level of experience. Participants can join as a mentor, mentee, or both.

To help members learn more, RFG is hosting two optional 30-minute information calls with Programme Lead Deanne Logan:

Recordings will be made available on RFG’s YouTube channel. Further guidance — including the programme overview, and quick guides for mentors and mentees, is available here.

Registration is now open:

Participants must attend a one-hour training session before beginning their mentoring relationship, including those who took part last year.

Next steps:

  • Attend an information call (optional)
  • Complete the mentor or mentee registration form
  • Book your one-hour training session
  • Receive your match by 2 February 2026

The programme plays an important role in fostering growth, confidence and collaboration across the rail freight community. RFG encourages all members to take part and support the next generation of sector talent.
