In this issue, we lead with the news that Russell Group has acquired Freightliner’s Coatbridge terminal and at the same time created a new trading entity, Russell RailRoad Limited. The first loco fitted for digital signalling has moved to dynamic testing, marking a significant milestone for rail freight on its journey to becoming European Train Control System (ETCS) ready and there is still time to join us for our Spring Meeting and BBQ on 15 May at Lion Quays Resort. Details and links to the agenda are on page 3.

On 30 April, RFG hosted a webinar on the Freight Safe Programme, a link to the recording is on our YouTube Channel here. Also inside, is a reminder to enter our popular RFG Awards. We have a range of award categories listed on page 4 including Driving Rail Freight Growth, Sustainability & Safety, Innovation & Talent, Rail Freight Project of the Year, Outstanding Individual Contribution, and Young Rail Freight Professional.

We also welcome a guest article from Railway Benefit Fund on its recent Impact Report, as well as our regular contributors Jonathan Roberts of JR Consulting and Daniel Fredriksson from GBRTT.
