In our final issue of the year, we are delighted to lead with our fantastic RFG Christmas Lunch. As always it was a huge event, where we welcomed more than 800 members, rail freight customers, politicians and other key stakeholders to celebrate the year. We were delighted to welcome Lord Peter Hendy as our guest of honour and on the day, we raised more than £8,700 for our chosen charity the Railway Benefit Fund. Inside this issue, we also have details on how to get involved in our rail freight mentoring programme next year. It’s free and provides a great opportunity for anyone new to the sector to gain vital experience. We encourage all of our members to get involved.

On page 15, Henry Bates Freight and Customer Director at Network Rail, reflects on rail freight’s performance in 2024 and looks ahead to next year. On page 21, you’ll find forward dates of our events for 2025.
