It’s a special edition for us as it marks 150 issues of our group newsletter. A huge thank you to everyone who has written articles or supported us through advertising over RFGN’s history. Helping us mark the occasion, we welcome articles from Martin Woor of Hutchison Ports Port of Felixstowe and Geoff Lippitt of PD Ports both discussing the growth and importance of ports as critical intermodal gateways.

In particular, a massive thank you goes out to Jonathan Roberts, from JR Consulting, who has continuously kept us all up to date with the critical goings-on in government through his Westminster Column.

It’s always a very busy time of year for the rail freight sector in the run-up to Christmas but this year has seen an increased focus on both the efforts and the environmental benefits of the sector. With BBC Breakfast visiting GBRf’s Peterborough depot and the ‘Wine Express’ services meeting the needs of consumers across the nation, the benefits of rail freight have been hitting the headlines like never before.

As we look forward to Issue 151, we hope we can count on your continued support to keep sharing the best from across the UK rail freight sector.
