RFG Newsletter – June 2017 – Issue 124

The latest edition of RFG’s regular newsletter RFG News is now available to download. Issue 124 leads on the Office of Rail and Road’s (ORR) new figures, showing that despite the decline in coal volumes, the rail freight sector has seen strong growth in construction and intermodal traffic.

In this issue we have included a meeting report on the RFG Summer Group Meeting and BBQ, which was a huge success, and we would like to thank all of our speakers and members who attended on the day.

Alongside our regular columnists Burges Salmon and JR Consulting, we have a guest article from Julian Worth, Rail Consultant at Victa Railfreight on the impact of Brexit.

We also announce the winner of our rail freight photo competition, which will be the start of a regular photo page each issue, so please keep your best shots coming in to us. Congratulations to Scott Turner, Planning and Timetable Assistant at Colas Rail, whose shot of a timber train at Shap Wells was chosen as the winner. A bottle of champagne will be winging its way to him.
