The National Networks National Policy Statement: 2023 draft response

RFG has responded to the National Networks Policy Statement: 2023 draft. Since 2008, the development of SRFIs has been considerably aided by their inclusion in the Planning Act and under the NNNPS.  SRFIs represent large-scale, private-sector investments, and the NNNPS serves to facilitate a more certain process for those seeking planning consent.  Although we welcome this review, our members were broadly content with the existing document, and do not believe there is a need for fundamental change.

Overall the new draft NNNPS is considered to be a reasonable document that will continue to support the development of SRFIs.  However, there are some areas where the revised text has raised significant concerns.
