How safe is rail freight’s data?

The rapid increase in digitalisation presents new challenges in keeping systems and data secure.  At a recent RFG webinar, three presenters discussed how their companies can help the rail industry improve security and safety of online data.

Emma Taylor of Razorsecure presented the output of a DfT-funded Digital Maintenance innovation project designing a software-based secure digital maintenance system, including a proof of concept build and test. Danny Rigby of Modux, a company specialising in security, software and simulation, explained that one of the main issues is that often those involved in the data chain assumed that someone else was taking care of cyber security. Geoff Pulford from Journeo showed how providing a common portal for digital CCTV systems, increased visibility and functionality as well as security.
